Daniel D’Urso is a long-time veteran of the software community having started out writing financial applications on mainframes and eventually progressing through the time-sharing, 个人电脑和网络世界. Most of his career has been focused on software engineering and databases.
He currently manages his own small business in Laguna Niguel providing software training and development, 主要是数据库. For many years up until the pandemic the business maintained a small training facility in San Juan Capistrano. Currently, it is strictly on-line based.
Mr. D’Urso was employed for many years by Digital Equipment Corporation (now part of Hewlett-Packard), mostly in the Boston area but also in Washington, D.C.美国和欧洲.
He held management positions in software engineering, product management and technical marketing. He was appointed technical support manager for software operations in Europe. When at Digital and subsequently Mr. D’Urso has managed or worked on numerous programs and projects in the financial services and health care industries. Prior to Digital he worked for Burroughs Corporation in both compiler and operating systems development. Most notably he worked on operating system software maintenance and later was part of the team that developed the Time-Sharing BASIC compiler.
His first full time job in IT was writing financial applications in COBOL and RPG for a large aerospace company.
